Because God’s eternal love is so great, He created a plan to rescue us from the grip of sin. He made this plan very simple... “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). If you freely believe on Jesus Christ, God will freely exchange His righteousness for all of your sins. How is that possible?

As Jesus, the Son of God, hung on the cross in agony, He took upon Himself all the sins of mankind. “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree” (Galatians 3:13).

In His own words, Jesus tells us why He did this: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13).
